Checking for Updates
Follow these instructions to re-install Enhansoft Reporting (ER) software with Enhansoft Service. If you are manually downloading the latest software version without Enhansoft Service, please start with the section below called, “Re-Installing Enhansoft Reporting.”
Starting on the SCCM site server, right-click on the Enhansoft Service icon from the system tray. Choose the Check Now option.
If any updates are available, you will see a similar popup message as the one pictured above. Notice that the version number is displayed, and if you need more details, simply click on the Description button in order to find out more about this update.
Click on the download link.
Save the ZIP file to your desired location.
Wait for the download to complete.
Click on the OK button in order to continue to the next step.
Re-Installing Enhansoft Reporting
Unzip and extract the setup file. Once the setup file is extracted, double-click on it and run the file. Basically, this process is very similar to the steps you would have taken when you first setup Enhansoft Reporting. Unlike the initial setup, however, a few screens in you are asked to uninstall the previous version of Enhansoft Reporting.
On the welcome page of the Setup Wizard, click Next to start the installation process.
Review the End-User License Agreement. After selecting the I accept the terms in the License Agreement option, click Next.
Choose an installation location (the default location is recommended) and then click Next.
From here, click on the Install button to start the installation process.
The Setup Wizard checks to see if there are any previous versions of Enhansoft Reporting installed on the computer.
If a previous version of Enhansoft Reporting is detected, the Setup Wizard will recommend uninstalling at least one or up to three items. Accept the recommendation and click on the Uninstall button. Clicking on the Uninstall button removes the previous version of Enhansoft Reporting from your reporting points.
This uninstall process takes a few minutes to complete. When it is completed, you will receive a confirmation. Click OK.
Next, the installation process continues.
Browse for your license key and then click Next to continue.
Click Next on the Diagnostic and Telemetry Data window.
If any warnings or errors popup on the System Checks page, please review the log file in the location provided. Otherwise, click Next to continue.
Previously selected settings should be pre-populated for you. Click Next to continue.
Once the files are processed, you are automatically forwarded to the next screen.
Confirm your reporting point details and then click Next.
It is recommended that you select all reports, however, you have the option to choose what SSRS reports are installed. Click Next.Note: All Power BI report sets are automatically installed regardless of which categories and reports are selected above.
Wait for the installation to complete. Review the log file if any errors popup. The location of the log file is provided in the screenshot (see above).
If you have a remote Reporting Point from your SQL Server, the following popup message is displayed. It is a reminder ONLY for the Computer Details report within the Computer Details category. A manual step is required in order to ensure that this report works correctly. Please see the Enhansoft Reporting documentation for more details or contact our Support Team.
Click OK to continue.
Once the installation process is successful, you will see a similar-looking confirmation page as the one above. If you need more information about the installation, you can review the log file simply by clicking on the Open Log File button. Otherwise, click Finish to close.
Finally, click Finish on the Setup Wizard page to complete the setup.
